Magic

Most People are together just so they are not alone. But some people want magic. I think you are one of those people.

Taste Like Heaven

Y'all I'm so excited! I received my shipment of Wild Friends Nut Butters today. I'm not going to lie when I tell you I will probably have to hide these from myself they taste that good! I'm just happy to spoon them out of the jar. Right now I think the Vanilla Espresso Almond Butter is my favorite. Taste like candy and I can't wait to spread this on an apple or add a little to my smoothies.

Commitment and Non-Scale Victories

I needed this quote this weekend. It's been a pretty rough past two weeks when it has come to sticking to my goals. I kind of fell off the wagon when it came to diet and exercise. I needed to fully recommit myself.

I had an aha moment on Saturday when I was getting dressed for a friends Birthday dinner. I put on a dress that has always fit and well it didn't fit anymore. I could gather handfuls of fabric on either side of my waist!

For the record the black dress with the cream feathers is the dress in question.
I was so stoked! But then again I wasn't because what the hell was I supposed to wear to dinner? And looking into the future what was I supposed to wear to that wedding in May? I eventually found something for the dinner at least.

That dress being too big was a sign. I think I needed to see all those early mornings on the Pilates mega-former, running on the dreadmill, and all those meals I've been cooking at home have paid off. As all those bloggers I've been reading mentioned a Non-Scale Victory (NSV). So the numbers on the scale haven't been moving (which has caused me major frustration) but apparently all that hard work actually have been paying off. So I am officially back on the bandwagon.

I'm totally trying to take advantage of running outside right now because if you have ever been in South Louisiana in the summer you will know that it gets so hot you think you are in Hell some days! I live pretty close to the LSU Lakes here in Baton Rouge and Sunday I took off for a run because it was just an amazing day outside. Cool Breeze and Gorgeous Sunshine made for what turned out to be a pretty good run. (So if you step out of my door and head for the lakes it is exactly 3.1 miles round trip.) I've never been able to complete the loop without stopping. Well Sat I did it! I ran the whole thing without stopping (I'm not counting when I ran in place because I thought a crazy man was going to grab me and pull me in his truck. Pretty sure that put my heart rate into overdrive anyway). I just kept telling myself just get to that stop sign, just make it to the golf course, just make it to the tennis courts, till eventually I just made it to my front door. It was such a great feeling and I even ran my fastest mile ever. Go Me! I even powered thru a side crap that I thought was going to have me doubled over in pain.

Just a picture from my Sunday run. It's always so pretty.

So that is where I am right now. Stuck at 155lbs (been there for a month and a half) but cherishing the Non-Scale Victories and the amazing weather while I can. Hope you guys had an amazing weekend!

Army Green

So I have this new favorite piece of clothing! Never thought I would be an army jacket type of girl but I was proven wrong! I purchased this beauty a couple of weeks ago and I am pretty sure I've worn it everyday since! I like it way better than a denim jacket because it has a little menswear inspiration but has a ton of feminine details.

I wish Anthropologie made it in Navy too because I would have purchased that color as well! But alas a girl can't get everything she wants now can she?

I think it is the perfect piece to take with you when you travel because it goes with everything! You never know what the weather is going to be like or if you are going to catch the rare cold plane.

School Days

I'm lusting after these Rag and Bone Oxfords right now.

They remind me of grade school. Because when I was running around the playground these were the type of shoes we wore. I'm pretty sure the price tag wasn't as hefty (Rag and Bone version is $495, Yikes!). I just love the no laces look on this pair so if you guys know of any similar  without the hefty price tag send me the link. For now I will keep dreaming about winning the lotto so I can buy these shoes.

How I accidently almost ruined a marriage....

So a little back story on me, I live in a home owned by a couple of friends who live in another state and only come back to Louisiana for big events (think Holidays, weddings and LSU football). Anyway, this couple made it home last weekend because the big event of choice was the Baton Rouge St. Patrick's Day parade. (it's kind of a big deal in these parts and we live two blocks away from the center of it all).

Flashback: Thursday night I was getting ready for a friends going away party when I realized I had a piece of underwear in my nightstand that didn't belong to me. I thought "Oh my laundry must have gotten mixed up with A's the last time she was in town I will just throw it in her suitcase." (Wouldn't you think the same?) Well, I didn't mention anything to A because I thought she would just recognize them and think nothing of finding them in her bag.

Present Day: I received a phone call this morning from A asking me if I thought M was cheating on her. Ummm, NO! What in the world!!!!? It's only 6:45 in the morning! Was I awake enough for a question like that? Hmmmm, Probably not. Well, A proceeds to tell me why she thinks M is cheating on her. She tells me she found someones panties in her suitcase. In my head I am going, "OH SHIT, This is totally my fault!" So I have to stop her mid sentence to tell her what happened. Boy did I feel bad making A and M think something was going on. I am sure it was hard for them both to sleep last night. But I do have to say I wish I had been a fly on the wall when A held up the panties and asked M where they came from. I am sure his face was priceless! Anyway, that is my how I accidentally almost broke up a marriage. These things only happen to me. Pretty sure I should write a book.
