It's all about me today

Jenni, at Story of My Life Blog asked that Day 17 be a favorite photo of yourself and to tell you why we picked it. I couldn't pick just one. Sorry!

So I was what, probably 4 in the picture above. It's about when I fell in love with Halloween. Yeah, Halloween is my favorite holiday so that is why I love this pic so much. I was adorable and it involved Halloween.
 

I love this above pic of myself because I feel like it could be in a magazine ad. Mardi Gras is so much fun every year. I mean you get to act like a princess. I really want to blow this picture up and hang it in my living room someday.

This picture was taken in Seattle a few years ago. It shows my passion for LSU and my love of traveling all in one. Seattle just might have been one of my favorite football roadtrips. We brought 25,000 fans to the West Coast. Seattle will never be the same.

I love the pic above because I use it as motivation. I will be that thin again. BTW no I am not a hooch this was Halloween one year. My friends like to tell me Donna Martin wants her outfit back.

 Last but not least is my picture in front of the leaning tower of Pisa. I love to travel and this represents my want to get back to Europe.

Just a few things that make me happy

So sorry I have been MIA these past few days. Some crazy stuff happened on Friday and I am still in shock. Plus I had to go home for a wedding this weekend. I got to watch one of my favorite people marry her best friend! She looked amazing!

Day 14 of the challenge is about things that make you happy! I can talk about this all day long, so here you go ma HAPPY LIST!


1) LSU Football. There is absolutely nothing better than being in Tiger Stadium on a Saturday night in the fall.

2) Capri, Italy is my magic place. I joke all the time that I could move there, get a job picking lemons, and marry a guy who drives tourist to the Blue Grotto everyday.

3) I love books, if I had the time I would probably read a book every couple of days. Books just take me to my happy place. You can pretend you are some where else. You can become someone else. Books help you plan magical adventures. They give you wonderful ideas. 

4) Paris is another place that makes me happy. Paris is always a good idea. I can honestly say I felt at home the minute I stepped off the plane. It was like the city enveloped me in a huge hug and didn't want to let me go. I feel the tug of Paris every day. 

5) So I am a huge dork and I love quotes. I always feel someone else can say it best so I carry a journal around with me every where I go just in case I stumble over a quote I fall in love with. I've got journals filled with quotes all over my room. I've probably been collecting quotes like baseball cards since I was in high school. 

6) Cupcakes make me happy. I have to restrict myself from eating them because I love them that much. I remember one birthday I received cupcakes from almost every single person that gave me a present. So crazy!!!! For the record the best cupcakes I have ever had come from Lake Charles, Louisiana.

7) Pilate's on a megaformer. Honestly it takes everything in me to get me to the studio but I absolutely love being there once I get there. I love the way Pilate's has transformed my body. I still have fat but I have watched my body grow stronger and muscles form.

8) My friends are my world. They make me laugh, they know when I am down or in trouble. They each hold a special place in my heart.

9) Travel in general makes me happy. Travel takes you to a whole different place. You meet new people, you learn more about yourself then you ever thought you could.

10) Music! There is almost nothing better than seeing your favorite bands live in concert. Or driving down the road with the sunroof open blaring your favorite tunes, singing them at the top of your lungs.

Remember that time...

Hi friends! So today we are supposed to reveal our most embarrassing moment. I tend to have a lot of those but I'll give you the one that is probably my favorite because it is just so darn stupid!

Back in 2000 I was in Summer school at LSU and I had to take a really early morning class to I could fit in all my classes that Summer. I had on my typical outfit of sorority t-shirt, plastics (yeah you know that was hot!) and flip flops. That summer I had to park at the stadium and walk up the hill to class at Lockett. No fun! While I was walking that morning the entire baseball team comes running by. Yep you guessed it I was so in awe I bit it right in front of the team! Ugh! So embarrassed! Who wants to fall in front of any guy much less the cool, cute jocks on campus! They gave me a standing ovation. I turned around walked back to my car and got back in bed because I just knew it was going to be one of those days.

Side note: I still can't walk in flip flops. I fall off of them all the time!

A girl can dream...

Today we are called to show you a piece of our day. So I will share a piece of my day from yesterday. I had to take my car into get serviced because well apparently my breaks called the service center and told them it was time! (What!?) Who am I to argue with my breaks? So I drive over to the dealership and proceed to get pissed!

1.  I forgot my current Insurance card and they weren't going to give me a loaner car without it. I totally get it but that didn't make the situation any less inconvenient. i ended up calling my Insurance company thinking there is no way these fools are going to answer before 8:30. I was wrong they have a 24 hour hotline for idiots like myself. So I solved that problem all before 8:00 AM.
2. I finally get to talk to the service guy and he is like there is no way you need to service your breaks right now you only have 8000 miles on your car. Ummm, what? Then why am I here? Well, the sensor has been messing up on quite a few of our models. Oh well then can I at least get my oil changed? Nope sorry you have 3000 miles before that can happen if you want BMW to pay for it. Well of course I do because I don't want to pay an arm and a leg when it would otherwise be free! So basically I drove out there for nothing! See you in July! 
3. I did get to play while I was waiting. See pictures below of my daydream while I waited. I mean the least they could do was let me drive that M6 around for the day. I mean why wouldn't they want me to drive a $120,000 car around Baton Rouge?
4. Yes I know I am being trivial and I am sorry. It really wasn't that bad and it isn't the dealerships fault I was the jackass that forgot my insurance card at home and my breaks said they needed service. They were so nice to me even when I was being bitchy!

Pack Your Bags

Morning Friends!

Today we are tasked to give a piece of advice. I think the best advice I can give you is to Travel. I'm not asking you to pack up and travel to Europe right now I'm just asking you to pack up and at least travel down the road. I know you may say I don't have the money but I promise there is a way. For instance I was looking up flights to Jamaica today and I discovered an airline I had never heard of with unreal prices! So next time I fly I may consider flying Spirit. I'm assuming they are similar to Ryan Air in Europe. I can't say it any better than Henry Rollins said so I will let him give you advice today.

Seriously I learned so much about myself through travel. I learned I could survive in a foreign country on my own/by myself. I learned to like myself more because I was spending so much time alone. I learned that there are some pretty amazing places right here in America and some out of this world places in other parts of the world. So I implore you to TRAVEL!

Day 6 Redo

So I didn't know how I was supposed to answer Day 6 so I wrote a whole other post instead. Well, after glancing at another bloggers post I got it! It was like a light bulb went off in my head. So here is my post on who am I if I couldn't use my job to describe myself.

Not using my job is easy. I never use my job to describe myself. How could I? I have 3 of them!! Not sure which one I would use anyway. So here it goes:

I'm a daughter, friend, blogger, renter, foodie (but not the snobby kind). I'm loud, sometimes obnoxious, caring, loyal, funny (at least I think so), procrastinator, and dreamer. I day dream all the time, mostly about being in some far off land with water the color of the sky. I'm a wanna be runner. I totally get on these kicks where all I want to do is run. Where I get mad if I can't fit it into my day and then there are those kicks where I won't see the inside of my gym for 3 months (you know those people that pay but don't go. The people the gym absolutely loves!!! Yeah that is me sometimes too). I'm a music lover. I love live music especially in a small venue. I just think the artist gives more of themselves when they play live. I can be obsessive. I'm a cupcake lover (Just ask and I can tell you the best places to get a cupcake in most cities). I'm a terrible speller and while we are on that subject I'm pretty terrible with grammar and punctuation too. I'm terrible at sticking to a budget (it's kind of like when Brad was on Rachel Zoe he said he would talk you into buying anything and everything) Well that is what I do to myself. I seriously love sports. It's probably what I am most obsessive about. I bleed purple and gold. I'm the girl that everyone trust with their important people. It could be their child, mother, boyfriend, or husband. I just want to find love of my own. I'm a hopeless romantic. I'm often times to trusting. I give people a million and one chances just ask any of my ex boyfriends. I believe the Universe will give you back what you put into it or ask it for. Serendipity is real. Last but not least I am a traveler. 

Flirting with life...

So I am trying to keep up with a blog a day in May that Jenni from Story of My Life has challenged us to do. I'm doing pretty great I think! It is only day 4 but I'll take it! Today's blog is supposed to be our favorite quote and why we love it. I couldn't pick one. I know you guys don't know me that well yet but you will probably learn that I love quotes! I have tons of journals lying around with just quotes I stumble upon. So for the purpose of today's blog I limited my quotes to two.

Traveling is like flirting with life; It's like saying,  "I would stay & love you, but I have to go; this is my station."

I just love this quote. I really feel like I can't stay in one place and I come most alive when I am in another city. I love to discover new places. Try new cuisine and meet new people.

May your coming year be filled with magic and dreams and good madness. I hope you read some fine books and kiss someone who thinks you're wonderful, and don't forget to make some art- write or draw or build or sing or live as only you can. And I hope, somewhere in the next year, you surprise yourself.

I send the second quote to my friends on their birthdays. I just love it. I guess it's because it is all the things I wish for myself in words. We all want to surprise ourselves in a good way.

Story of my life....

Jenni, from Story of My Life Blog challenged us to blog every day in May. I'm totally taking her up on the challenge because as a blogger I know I can be more consistent and this will also give you more insight in to who I am. Today we are supposed to blog about the story of our life so here are 25 Things you need to know about me. :)

1. I'm a lonely only
2. I love the library and the smell of old books but I would totally rather read a book on my iPad.
3. If you haven't guessed, I bleed Purple and Gold. Geaux Tigers!
4. I want Lou Holtz to be my Grandpa. (I met him after the National Championship Game in New Orleans and it was the only thing that made the defeat bearable.)
5. I want Steve Spurrier to be my Dad. OK! OK! Maybe just my permanent golf partner. (Darth Visor as my Dad would still be pretty cool).
6. I get really antsy when I haven't been on a trip in a long time.
7. I want to live in Capri, Italy. Have you been? It is pure magic! I could totally live there the rest of my life, pick lemons for a living, marry a boat captain and   bask in the Italian sun. 
8. Venice gave me anxiety when I was there. Maybe it was being surrounded by water.
9. I have two, sometimes three jobs. I feel like I have always had more than one job.
10. I don't have children but I am a god mother to the most adorable little girl.
11. I'm pretty sure the man I am supposed to spend the rest of my life with got lost or as Carrie Bradshaw once said, "Hit by a Bus"
12. Probably a little addicted to Instagram.
13. I'm afraid for my friends and family to read my blog but am totally OK with perfect strangers knowing what is going on in my life.
14. I have a major cupcake weakness. I just can't resist. And for anyone that wants to know the best cupcakes come from Lake Charles, Louisiana (Cypi's Cake Box). They are heaven!
15. I've had 9 vehicles since I was 15 years old. (I'm 34 now). So excessive! 
16. Dream vacation would be to Australia
17. I totally play the lotto. I mean how else am I supposed to finance my dream vacation to Australia?
18. I've seen Better Than Ezra more times than a person should see a band. Pretty sure I could give you what the set list would be any given night.
19. All my friends use me as their husband/boyfriend sitter. If they go out of town they send their men to me. I guess that means I am safe and trusted. 
20. I probably know more about certain sports than most men. I'm kind of obsessive.
21. I have no problem traveling alone.
22. I turned down a date in Paris from one of the hottest men I have ever seen because I had just watched Taken and I was traveling alone. Totally regret that!
23. I met Dave Franco one night and told him he could be James Franco's stand in. (To my credit I didn't know James had a brother!)
24. I once got the chance to watch 311 and Incubus from the stage. (Brandon Boyd sat the entire 311 set next to me with his shirt off)
25. Socks with heels drive me crazy!!!!
